  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 onion (finely diced)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • Garlic powder, salt, and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into 6–8 oval patties.
  4. In an oven-safe skillet over medium heat, brown each patty for about 3–4 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions until soft. Stir in flour for about 2 minutes.
  6. Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream until smooth.
  7. Place browned patties back into the skillet with gravy; cover tightly with a lid or foil.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes covered; then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly.
