- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 onion (finely diced)
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 onion (sliced)
- Garlic powder, salt, and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into 6–8 oval patties.
- In an oven-safe skillet over medium heat, brown each patty for about 3–4 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions until soft. Stir in flour for about 2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream until smooth.
- Place browned patties back into the skillet with gravy; cover tightly with a lid or foil.
- Bake for 45 minutes covered; then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly.
