Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 white onion, finely diced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 pack dinner rolls (12 count) (I use King's Hawaiian Savory Butter Rolls)
  • 16 slices American cheese (I use Boar's Head)
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • pinch of salt and garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. white sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Butter a baking sheet and set aside.
  3. In a sauté pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté diced onions until softened, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, salt, and pepper; cook for an additional minute.
  5. Slice dinner rolls in half and layer the bottom halves on the baking sheet. Add cheese slices followed by the beef mixture and top with remaining cheese.
  6. Brush tops with melted butter mixed with garlic powder and sprinkle sesame seeds. Bake for 12-15 minutes until warmed through.
