Ingredients
- 200 g Rump/Sirloin steak
- 1 Egg
- 1 cup Corn/Potato Starch
- ½ Sweet Onion
- ½ Bell Pepper
- 2–3 Spring Onions
- 2–3 Birdseye Chillies
- 3 tbsp Sweet Chilli Sauce
- 2 tbsp Ketchup
- 2 tbsp Light soy sauce
- 1 tsp Vinegar (white or rice)
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- ½ tsp Salt
Instructions
- Cut the beef into thin strips and marinate with all marinade ingredients for 15 minutes.
- Mix stir fry sauce ingredients in a bowl; set aside.
- Add egg to marinated beef, mix well, then coat with starch.
- Heat oil to 350°F and deep fry coated beef until crispy (1–2 minutes).
- Drain excess oil on paper towels.
- Stir-fry onions and bell peppers in a wok; add fried beef and stir fry sauce.
- Toss in spring onions and chillies; cook for another minute.
- Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
