  • 200 g Rump/Sirloin steak
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Corn/Potato Starch
  • ½ Sweet Onion
  • ½ Bell Pepper
  • 23 Spring Onions
  • 23 Birdseye Chillies
  • 3 tbsp Sweet Chilli Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Vinegar (white or rice)
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • ½ tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Cut the beef into thin strips and marinate with all marinade ingredients for 15 minutes.
  2. Mix stir fry sauce ingredients in a bowl; set aside.
  3. Add egg to marinated beef, mix well, then coat with starch.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F and deep fry coated beef until crispy (1–2 minutes).
  5. Drain excess oil on paper towels.
  6. Stir-fry onions and bell peppers in a wok; add fried beef and stir fry sauce.
  7. Toss in spring onions and chillies; cook for another minute.
  8. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
