Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh chow mein noodles
- 2 cups thinly sliced cabbage
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 1 small sliced onion
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp regular soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce (or vegetarian stir-fry sauce)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 1/4 cup low-sodium chicken stock (or cold water)
- 1/2 tbsp cornstarch (or potato starch)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the sauces and set aside.
- Boil water in a large pan and blanch the chow mein noodles for 20-30 seconds until loosened.
- Drain the noodles in a colander without rinsing to retain their flavor.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan and sauté onions, cabbage, and celery for about one minute until softened.
- Push veggies aside, add remaining oil, noodles, and prepared sauce to the pan.
- Toss everything together until well-coated; remove from heat and serve.
