- 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 3 pounds Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and position the rack in the middle.
- Grate the cheeses and slice the peeled potatoes into 1/8-inch pieces using a mandoline slicer.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, add garlic, and sauté for about 30 seconds. Pour in heavy cream with salt and pepper; warm gently without boiling.
- Lightly grease a baking dish (9×13). Layer half of the potatoes on the bottom, drizzle with half of the cream mixture, and sprinkle half of each cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 25-35 minutes until tender.
