Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ pound sweet Italian sausage
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 48 ounces spaghetti sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×13 casserole dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and sausage. Drain excess fat, then add minced garlic and spaghetti sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 2 cups mozzarella, eggs, half a cup Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  4. Spread ¾ cup meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish. Layer with three uncooked noodles followed by one-third of the cheese mixture and one-fourth of the remaining meat sauce.
  5. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with three noodles topped with remaining meat sauce and cheeses.
  6. Cover tightly with aluminum foil (sprayed side down) and bake for about 50 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let it rest for at least ten minutes before slicing.
