Ingredients
- 12 soft white dinner rolls
- 350g (12 oz) shaved ham
- 250g (8 oz) Swiss cheese slices
- 100g (7 tbsp) unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/3 cup American mustard
- 1/4 onion (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp poppyseeds
- 1/2 tsp cooking/kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, chopped onion, American mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, poppyseeds, salt, and black pepper.
- Cut rolls in half horizontally and spread mustard on both halves. Place the bottom half in the prepared pan.
- Layer with ham and cheese, then bake uncovered for about 10 minutes until cheese is melty.
- Top with the other roll half and pour over the savory butter mixture. Cover with foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake uncovered for another 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Slice while hot and serve warm.
