Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. For the crust: In a large bowl, mix flour, confectioners' sugar, and salt. Cut in softened butter using a pastry blender until the mixture resembles sandy crumbs. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 15-18 minutes until lightly browned.
  3. For the filling: In another bowl, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, pecans, and chocolate chips. Pour over the baked crust.
  4. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until set but slightly soft in the center. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
