Serve it over steamed rice, noodles, or even in lettuce wraps for an unforgettable meal that’s both delicious and versatile.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into 1.5 inch pieces)
  • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Asian five spice, green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sriracha sauce, and minced garlic to create the marinade.
  2. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper (and optional five spice). Pour half of the marinade over the chicken in a separate bowl or bag; marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Soak wooden skewers in water for about 10 minutes to prevent burning. Thread marinated chicken onto skewers.
  4. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill skewers for about 4–5 minutes on each side until fully cooked, basting with remaining marinade.
  5. Serve hot over steamed rice or cooked noodles with chopped green onions.
