- 2 Tablespoons salted butter
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 3–4 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 ½ cups beef broth
- 1 chicken bouillon cube or 1 tsp better than bouillon
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce (can sub Worcestershire sauce)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon EACH: mustard powder, dried thyme
- ½ cup dry white wine
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 3 Tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook chicken until golden brown (5-7 minutes per side), then set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced mushrooms until browned. Add minced garlic and stir for another minute.
- Sprinkle flour over mushrooms; gradually whisk in beef broth until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until thickened (10 minutes).
- Return chicken to the skillet; cover with sauce and simmer on low for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
