  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 5 ounces shredded provolone cheese
  • 8 sandwich buns
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Better than Bouillon beef base
  • 1 Tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add red onion and bell peppers; cook until tender-crisp. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and ground sirloin; brown meat while breaking it apart.
  4. Stir in chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, beef bouillon base, and tomato paste.
  5. Return veggies to skillet; add water and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Mix in provolone cheese until melted. Serve on sandwich buns.
