  • 2 + 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 large egg
  • 6 Tbsp softened butter (divided)
  • 4 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, egg, melted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Whisk until combined.
  2. Gradually mix in flour until the dough is no longer sticky. Knead for about 3 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the filling on top. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 8 pieces.
  6. Place rolls in a greased baking pan, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While cooling, mix frosting ingredients until smooth and spread over warm rolls.
