  • 1 1/3 cups + 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons fine sea salt
  • 4 cups + 2 tablespoons bread flour

Instructions

  1. Prepare the starter by mixing the sourdough starter, all-purpose flour, and water in a bowl. Let it sit for about 8 hours or overnight.
  2. In a large bowl, combine active sourdough starter, water, and prepared starter mixture. Stir in salt and gradually add bread flour until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for approximately 4 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Deflate the dough gently, shape it into a round loaf, and let it rise again for another hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Bake the loaf for about 50 minutes until golden brown.
